DESCRIPTION:The annual ESA Hearts St. Jude 5K will be taking place this year at Flavet Field located on campus at the University of Florida. The event is hosted by Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA)\, a co-ed service fraternity at UF. All proceeds of the 5K will be going to their philanthropy\, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The mission of St. Jude is to provide treatment and to find a cure for pediatric cancer while families never receive a bill during their stay at St. Jude. ESA is the largest third-party donor for St. Jude and they have been partnering with St. Jude since 1972. \nHelp us save the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by attending our philanthropic 5K event this year! \nThe 5k will be following CDC guidelines for COVID-19 as your safety during the race is our first priority. DESCRIPTION:Join the UF College of the Arts for a free\, virtual lecture by visiting artist Alexis Rockman.\n\nBorn in 1962 and raised in New York City\, Rockman has exhibited extensively worldwide since 1985. He has been the subject of many international solo and group exhibitions\, including a major retrospective organized at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. His work is also included in public and private collections around the world\, and he has held a number of teaching posts at prestigious institutions\, such as Columbia and Harvard. \nFrom 2009-12\, Rockman collaborated with director Ang Lee on the prize-winning film “Life of Pi\,” serving as “Inspirational Artist” and created one of Pi’s most captivating sequences – “Tigervision” in which Pi discovers the world through the tiger eyes while journeying to the bottom of the ocean.
